Audience source: Neumann KM-184 mics onstage (about 15 inches up, stage right, space about 90 degrees apart) > Lunatec v2 preamp > Tascam DA-P1 > 44.1kHz DAT
Soundboard transfer: compact flash card > USB reader > Macintosh MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) > Bias Peak 6.2.0.21692 (trimmed, first 2:09 lowered 12 db and then first 2:13 raised 2 db to compensate for level changes during the recording; additionally, the last 53:31 was raised 5 db and the first 60:55 was lowered 5 db) > aiff/wav > see below
Audience transfer: master DAT > Sony PCM-R500 > (coax spdif) > Metric Halo MIO-2882 firewire interface > Macintosh MacMini (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) > MIO Console 5.2.00.153 (record panel) > 44.1 kHz split stereo wav files > Bias Peak Pro 6.1.1.19585 (trimmed, files re-combined, lowered 1db, inverted, time aligned by using Bias Peak's modify sample rate and then reconverted back to 44.1kHz and padded with about 1 second of silence to sync with soundboard source) > 16bit 44.1kHz aiff/wav files > (see below)
Mix: 2-channel audience and 2-channel soundboard files > Macintosh MacBook Pro (2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) > Logic Pro 7.2.3 (mixed, bounced to 2-track stereo) > aiff > Bias Peak 6.2.0.21692 (trimmed, split into songs) > aiff/wav > xACT v1.71 (level 8 compression, sector boundaries repaired) > flac
Note: The final two songs are performed live in the audience without amplification (or mics). I quickly moved my mics slightly closer (off the stage and into the audience, and raised them as high as they'd go). The last 15 minutes is thus from audience source only, with levels raised considerably and limiting and compression applied during the mixing stage. For the first song in the audience ("The Rain"), the band was on the far side of the room, but then the band members moved to within 10-15 feet of me for the second song ("Known to Touch Me"), so there is some variation in the sound quality even between the two songs in the audience.
